Once in Copenhagen, you are obliged to see the Little Mermaid statue, the famous lady brought to us by Hans Christian Andersen. Besides its fairytale upbringing though, the small and unimposing statue, may disappoint a few. Still, the Little Mermaid attracts thousands of tourists since 1913.
The lonely statue sits on a rock in the harbour off Langelinie promenade and you can't touch it. In regards to the mandatory photos, she has to be contained in the background. And no matter how many times she gets vandalized, she always returns intact (she is just a copy).
