Famous for its Gothic Nave, the Carhedral of Saint Mary of Girona actually has the widest Gothic nave in the world with a 22 meter length.
Seven centuries in the making, the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Girona, dates back in the 11th century, when it was originally constructed in Romanesque style, while later on in the 13th century it was continued in Gothic style. Today the reminders of the original Romanesque style are evident in the 12th century cloister and the bell tower.
The treasury, the medieval tapestry and the two hand-copied 13th Century Bibles justify the €5 admission fee.
