This galaxy of starred restaurants, including the fab Mugaritz, also hosts an abundance of inexpensive tapas bar with high value for money. Although it is a resort area, San Sebastian is also a regular city with its people and tourism co-existing.
The Mecca of fine food is also famous for its movie festival, its beaches, and tapas! It is unusual to have a swim-appropriate beach next to a historic site but San Sebastian attracts thousands of tourists for this reason and for surfing. You could of course go swimming or surfing or simply sunbathing at the beach once you are at one of the true gem of Basque resorts. There are three different beach areas in San Sebastian: the relaxed Ondaretta and Playa de Gros, and the celebrated Playa de la Concha, which looks out onto a dazzling bay and is surrounded by countryside landscapes...
