You will never see this one coming judging by its location on the not so chic meat packing district, (now the cash and carry district where restaurants get their supplies). Kodbyens Fiskebar is a starred, fish restaurant, but on the quite funky side of fine dining, where food is the focus and appearances are deliberately ignored.
This is where young people and young at heart people come to enjoy fresh fish with an attitude.
Don't be surprised by your wine bottle sitting on the floor situation, or the informal cutlery on the table. Just play along and the smell of meat factory will soon disappear in the air. Its character will prevail and suck you right in!
Food is quite fresh and delicately prepared. There is no molecular science here but you still find espuma on the cod.
The quantity is quite small and pricing is not so modest (not a surprise for Copenhagen).
Service was very slow on a fully packed Tuesday dinner...
