Tucked peacefully within the narrow streets of the British countyside village Wiswell near Citheroe, The Free Masons pub is a must visit.
On the day of the visit, which was a Sunday lunch service, we had a wonderful welcome snack (they call it a snack, not amuse bouch), a scalop and salmon nugget with crab mayo, and for starters we had lobster and fish soufflé. For mains Sea Bass and the Sunday roast. Everything was just spot on, on the taste and freshness. What seems to be traditional and predictable pub food, turned out to be so well executed that made for an exciting, value for money experience.
Service was friendly and professional.
There are a few beautifully appointed, clean rooms next door if you want to stay the night.
