"Still a main attraction, though it's just ancient ruins, steps and a tower"

Even though it is the only part of a fortress which remains intact, Kärnan is still the main attraction in the heart of Helsingborg. Basically, it is a medieval tower, standing tall and proud, behind a picturesque setting with lots of steps.

If you dare to climb up the 35 meter high tower, you will be rewarded with some amazing birds eye views of the harbour, Öresund and Helsingör across in Denmark. Or maybe you can take the lift. And make sure you check opening hours.
