"It takes a workout to visit these ancient fortifications tunnels."

Casements are tunnels, part of an underground system of passages and galleries. Along with some old castle ruins, Casemates du Bock is a major attraction due to the adjacent views of the Grund and the old town, outside the upper area.

Though the view on top is free, the entrance to the casements is €3 and it is a workout to get down there though all the steps, dead ends and long spiral staircases. And do consider the return before going. If you are a claustrophobic, the ancient fortifications are not for you though.
