Situated within the most prestigious hotel establishment, Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles is a fine 2* restaurant.
On the night of the visit, a Tuesday dinner in June 23, we experienced the perfect service, in the perfect setting, and had the perfect ingredients. In regards to taste and flavour, though dishes were cooked again perfectly, they could have benefited from more depth and complexity. They seemed to be lacking that umami kick. The unexpected, the adventure. The canapes were also not so suitable for the occasion. Lots of raw vegetables that seemed more like an afterthought, than a welcome poem.
Service was a thing of beauty to watch. Like a perfect choreographed performance.
Pricing was very steep, a real stretch for the average folk. Thus the high expectations.
