Located just 100 meters away from Charlie checkpoint, Tim Raue restaurant is worth its reputation. And what a reputation! Even Obama had a meal there.
On the day of the visit we ordered the 3 course meal with wine pairing to keep the bill modest in this 2 Michelin star establishment. In a few words, the food was outstanding. Starters with the exception of an intense wasabi pate, were great choices while the mains were exceptionally tasteful, though small portioned.
Service at Tim Raue was professional even though indifferent and not so warm compared to other Berlin restaurants.
The premises were not special either, rather very simple; it's just another store in a busy street, turned into a restaurant.
The bill came down to €134 for 2 X 3 courses, 1 wine pairing, 1 bottle of water and 1 cappuccino. Quite affordable for this level.
