The concept of star chef Joel Robuchon was simple but innovative at the time. Open space with a visible kitchen, stools instead of chairs and a bar type of setting and food at the finest of levels. And he accomplished just that with a series of Ateliers around the world. This one is located in the Saint Germain area and it takes reservations for two settings. Lunch is more flexible but dinner is at 6.30 sharp. If you desire a later setting, you can wait in line around 9 o’clock with the hope of getting in.
The ambience inside L’Atelier Saint Germain de Joel Robuchon is very chic and sexy, with velvety reds and black everywhere. Even the chefs’ uniforms were black. The food was excellent. Everything we ordered was perfect and brought to us in a timely manner. On the day of the visit we ordered tasting portions of the burger, the pigeon, the quail, the crab and the langoustine ravioli, and it is safe to say that none of them failed to impress us...
