La Prieure restaurant is located in the hotel with the same name. Chef, Fabien Fage, has been working there since 2007 and holds a star since 2009.
On the day of the visit, amuse bouche to start included foie gras miniatures, a cheese ball and a fried rice ball, followed by a refreshing tomato and basil foam.
Two different degustation menus priced at €88 each, were our choice. There was a warning on the menu that the dishes were small. So, expect to find a classic French menu, balanced but with tiny portions.
Fish was fresh and well prepared as well as the meat dishes.
This was simple, straight forward food, with fine ingredients. Not a lot of risks taken.
On a site note, on the day of the visit we sat in the garden and there was a white garden mice family which were keeping us company. "You just have to learn to live with them; they’ve been living here for 300 years" we were told by the waiter...
