Cologne, a colorful German city with 2,000 years of history, is located on the Rhine. The Roman towers and Gothic churches evident of the city's rich history, lay in contrast with the new structures of modern architecture. Lots of museums, 42 in total, complete the city picture, such as the Museum of Applied Art and the Museum Ludwig, where you can find anything from Greek mosaics to Pop Art. The Cologne Cathedral is also quite a masterpiece, world famous for its massive flamboyant Medieval Goth style.
