What would you expect to find In Gruyère? Gruyère cheese of course. The town is well organised, offering tourists the chance to have a look inside a small cheese factory and discover the processes. For a small fee, you can take the audio tour around the factory and see through the glass walls the workers in action.
You can also learn a thing or two about the ancestral tradition of cheese making. At the end of the tour they give you a small cheese sample but the store next door which has a wide variety of options and fondue sets available for purchase, will satisfy bigger appetites. Plenty of parking space, beautiful surroundings and just a few meters away from the Medieval town and the Gruyère castle, The Maison du Gruyère is worth a visit.
