The Dogs is located on the first floor of an old building and it spreads between two rooms. On the day of the visit the room in which we were seated, was fully packed with some 40 fellow diners which proves its popularity. The big bar and the picture of the dog behind it, were quite prominent as far as decoration goes.
During our dinner we had the "whitebait, green apple, baby radish, baby gem + chilli, caper, gherkin, shallot vinaigrette" and a green version of risotto described as "asparagus/goat's cheese green barley risotto, preserved lemons". For mains we had the "roasted pork belly, lardon + skirlie, celeriac/pear mash, gravy" and the "lamb Barnsley chop, black pudding + turnip cake, shallot/mushroom sauce".
The ingredients were locally produced and the meats seemed quite fresh and properly cooked...
